Learning Futures Blog
This is the blog of the 15 schools participating in the Learning Futures project, funded by The Paul Hamlyn Project and led by the Innovation Unit. We are working with Biddenham Upper School so those blogs are particularly fabulous, but the others are worth a look too!
Future Lab
Futurelab is an independent not-for-profit organisation that is dedicated to transforming teaching and learning, making it more relevant and engaging to 21st century learners through the use of innovative practice and technology. We have a long track record of researching and demonstrating innovative uses of technology and aim to support systemic change in education – and are uniquely placed to bring together those with an interest in improving education from the policy, industry, research and practice communities to do this. Futurelab is close enough to government to be influential, but distant enough to have an independent viewpoint; credible and respected by academia, but with rigorous project management, support and delivery mechanisms that deliver to commercial timelines. Our integrity and commitment to positive change allow us access to education practitioners and learners and we, in turn, support them to adopt new teaching practices with a range of research-informed support and tools.
Whole Education
This, in our humble opinion, is the way that education should be going. We just want it right now! Bringing together some of the most influencial voices in education such as The Paul Hamlyn Foundation, Innovation Unit, Oxfam, Edge and Future lab it is placed to be a powerful force for change. To future-proof our kids they need time and space and resources to discover and master the right skills.
If Whole Education made badges we'd be wearing them.
Vision Mapper
Imagining innovation is not an easy thing to do. Vision Mapper provides resources and activities for schools to use when considering how to respond to the need for future change. For school leaders this is a rich resource for framing deep conversations about change.
the fun theory
This site is dedicated to the thought that something as simple as fun is the easiest way to change people’s behaviour for the better. Be it for yourself, for the environment, or for something entirely different, the only thing that matters is that it’s change for the better.
